Petra Ottens is a research technician at the Surgical Research Laboratory of the University Medical Center Groningen. Since 2004, she participates in the research of Prof. Henri Leuvenink on the topic of organ preservation, machine perfusion and transplantation. She is involved in the design of experimental protocols on kidney preservation, which often incorporate ex vivo normothermic machine perfusion, and performing these experiments together with the lab's researchers. As a technician, her main focus is conducting perfusion experiments and subsequent analysis by means of molecular biology, ELISA and enzymatic assays.
