Dr. Merel Pool is a postdoctoral researcher at the Surgical Research Laboratory, University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands, and also a general practitioner trainee. Her recent research focused on normothermic ex vivo kidney perfusion, specifically on expanding knowledge on the ideal composition of the perfusion solution and performing therapeutic interventions during machine perfusion.
