Elwin Blom is a mechatronics engineer at the Surgical Research Laboratory of the University Medical Center Groningen, the Netherlands. While graduating from his second engineering degree, he joined the research group of Dr. Cyril Moers and has been involved ever since. He has a wide experience in the fields of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering and he has a specific interest in control systems engineering for medical applications. His main activities include the development of hardware and software for innovative organ perfusion systems that are specialized for use in a laboratory setting and during MRI experiments.
