REWARM: Renal Ex vivo Warm Advanced Resuscitation through Machine perfusion
REWARM adds a "standard treatment" arm to the PREWARM study and randomises between these two treatments. Thus, a randomised controlled trial is conducted, which compares post-transplant outcome after 4-hour normothermic perfusion just prior to transplantation with standard, hypothermia-only organ preservation. Primary end point of this RCT will be eGFR at 1 year post-transplant. Secondary end points include delayed graft function, graft survival, patient survival and the occurrence of acute rejection episodes.
